Abstract

Limestone karst-formations are found throughout Southeast Asia and are known to harbor high levels of endemic biodiversity. This study records 44 species of amphibians and reptiles (17 species of lizards, 21 species of frogs, and six species of snakes) from two karst towers and their surrounding limestone forest in a lowland locality at Hutan Lipur Gunung Senyum, Pahang, Peninsular Malaysia. The biodiversity of this area underscores the importance of additional studies in limestone forests to better understand and conserve the fauna of these unique ecosystems.
