On the Taxonomic Status of a Mangrove Sea Snake Hydrelaps darwiniensis Boulenger, 1896 (Serpentes, Hydrophiidae)

Abstract


The erection of the subfamily Hydrelapinae nov. for the mangrove sea snake Hydrelaps darwiniensis Boulenger, 1896 is substantiated. Key for identification of subfamilies of family Hydrophiidae is given. Lectotype and paralectotype of H. darwiniensis is given.
