Abstract

Based on extensive and long-term field work in western regions of the Iranian Plateau from March 2008 to April 2010, five specimens of Tropiocolotes helenae helenae (Nikolsky, 1907) were collected from stony hills around Qasr-e-Shirin and Sarpol-e-Zahab, in Kermanshah Province. The collected specimens were examined based on metric, meristic and pholidotic characters and compared with other specimens of this taxon from Lorestan and Ilam Provinces. Furthermore, the presence of two pores in basal, ventral part of the tail in both sexes in T. helenae was noticed and their possible adaptive value discussed.
