A Record of Pelobates syriacus Boettger, 1889 (Anura: Pelobatidae) in Northern Iran

Abstract


One of the five species of the family Pelobatidae, the Eastern Spadefoot (Pelobates syriacus Boettger, 1889) lives in Iran. The last record of this species is related to 1991. This paper consist a new observation of this species after 21 year in 2012 from a pond in Galesh Kolam village at the vicinity of Chamkhaleh, Gilan Province, Iran.
