Range Extensions of Two Salamanders [Neurergus strauchii (Steindachner, 1887) and Salamandra infraimmaculata Martens, 1885] (Caudata: Salamandridae) from Anatolia, Turkey

Abstract


In this study, new records of Neurergus strauchii (Steindachner, 1887) and Salamandra infraimmaculata Martens, 1885 species were given at different localities from Anatolia. Neurergus strauchii was recorded the first time from north of Murat River in Tunceli Province. Salamandra infraimmaculata samples were found Tunceli (Tağar Stream/Çemişgezek, Sütlüce Village and Gelinodaları/Pülümür) and Şanlıurfa (Eskihalfeti) Provinces, except the known localities from Turkey. In addition, data based on mensural characters and color-patter features of two species were given in detail.
